              Guided Mountain Goat Hunt

Our Goat hunts start in mid September and run until the last of November.  Goat hunting is very similar to the hunting of the great Dall Ram. The country that they dwell in is more often than not,  steep, rocky and full of cliffs. This is not country for the faint of heart.

But despite all this ruggedness, there is a beauty and grandeur that only few people get to experience.  Mountain Goats, like the Dall Sheep are a trophy to be sought after. All the hard work of the long climb melts away  when you finally set gaze at that great, white, majestic animal.  If you have hunted goat or sheep before, you know just what I am talking about .  It is like they were carved out of the mountain and snow- with hair 8 to 10 inches long, big blocky shoulders and long ebony horns. They are truly the great monarch of the mountain. Our goat hunts are usually take place in Prince William Sound, which is well known for big goats.

This is a fantastic hunt.  Like sheep hunting, goat hunting is difficult but not impossible.  Spike camps use 4-season 4-man tents.  The main foods consist of Mountain House, and other assorted goodies. When it comes to hunting these guys, the better shape you are in and the more positive your mental outlook, then the greater your chances of ending your hunt successfully... and you will be more apt to enjoy your hunt.
